Imbenge baskets and bowls

The Zulu tribe is the largest ethnic group in South Africa and have long been associated with their skill and artistry in fashioning baskets from the native plants and grasses of their home. The Zulu people living in urban areas invented a new kind of basket, the Imbenge basket woven entirely from up-cycled telephone wire. The baskets are colourful and have kept their traditional patterns. Imbenge baskets are sturdy and washable. This Imbenge bowl is 18cm deep and in a multi-coloured pattern. This bright bowl is the perfect size for storing cocktail snacks, keys, or even a mini plant.
