Senegalese Fele baskets
The Fele basket comes from Senegal where weavers using traditional skills produce exquisite contemporary African baskets. These baskets, made from millet grass, are both practical and decorative. Fele baskets are named after an adorable Senegalese tabby cat named “Fele”. Fele cats are typically found alongside the weavers, curled up in a basket. While using traditional millet grass, this version also features up-cycled metallic textiles to give the basket more flare.
